Hillary is running

Last week I was watching “Countdown with Keith Olbermann”:http://www.msnbc.com/news/countdownolbermann_front.asp?cp1=1&ta=y and he kept saying that he thinks Hillary would run for the office. Hillary had made a statement saying that she would not run for office in 2004. According to his sources, Former President Clinton was advising her how to get over that statement.
But even though Hillary Clinton has not made a public announcement, it looks like she is “running”:http://herndon1.sdrdc.com/cgi-bin/fecimg/?P00003392 for the office of the President of United States. InstaPundit has the “instructions”:http://www.instapundit.com/archives/011870.php on how to find that for yourself.
So it could be Clinton vs Bush again in 2004.
Update (From National Review link sent by SAS) The entry Instas reader found was an ID created when a draft Hillary committee registered. Dig further and youll find records for a draft committee in 2000, too, I believe. So, while Im still betting the day is coming (a matter of months), when Hillary jumps in, it hasnt happened yet. (I checked it out yesterday, after a few Corner readers emailed me the same link the cyperpunditman has up.)

  1. Someone else suggested that Hillary’s strategy might also be to gum up the dem primaries so Bush wins in 2004, which will leave the path clear for her in 2008. Hmmm…

  2. Shanti, Another theory I heard was that it will be a Clark-Clinton or Clinton-Clark ticket in 2004, considering the fact that many Clinton loyalists are working on the Clark campaign.

  3. well, it looks like it was a false alarm. at least for now…
i think she is eventually going to run, but i also can’t help but think that it might be in her best interests to wait until next election, presuming that the democratic candidate loses (which i think the clintons were rooting for w/ dean) so she wouldn’t be facing an incumbent republican.
but now with clark in the mix, who knows…
